چکیده

We address the question of whether anisotropic superconductivity is compatible with the evidently weak sensitivity of the critical temperature Tc to sample quality in the high-Tc copper oxides. We examine this issue quantitatively by solving the strongcoupling Eliashberg equations numerically as well as analytically for s-wave impurity scattering within the second Born approximation. For pairing interactions with a characteristically low energy scale, we find an approximately universal dependence of the d-wave superconducting transition temperature on the planar residual resistivity which is independent of the details of the microscopic pairing. These results, in conjunction with future systematic experiments, should help elucidate the symmetry of the order parameter in the cuprates.

Numerical procedure for analyzing impurity-induced resonant-state STM images observed in high-Tc superconductors

Numerical procedure is developed for analyzing impurity-induced resonant-state STM images observed in high-Tc superconductors, and is applied to three sets of higher resolution data provided to us by J. C. Seamus Davis and E. W. Hudson. Each image is associated with a Zn impurity in Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8. The averaged, integrated, relative quasiparticle local density of states at all predominant CusZnd...

Role of anisotropic impurity scattering in anisotropic superconductors.

A theory of nonmagnetic impurities in an anisotropic superconductor including the effect of anisotropic (momentum-dependent) impurity scattering is given. It is shown that for a strongly anisotropic scattering the reduction of the pair-breaking effect of the impurities is large. For a significant overlap between the anisotropy functions of the scattering potential and that of the pair potential...

اثر جایگزینی Ba در جایگاه Sr در ابررسانای دمای بالای Bi-2223

Bi1.8Pb0.4Sr2-xBaxCa2.2Cu3Oy (x-0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3) samples were prepared by a conventional solid state reaction method. The effect of Ba substitution at Sr site in Bi-2223 high-TC superconductors have been investigated by the XRD, SEM, dc electrical resistivity and ac susceptibility. XRD and SEM analysis indicated Ba substitution decreased temperature of 2223 phase formation. The highest 2223 ph...

Superconducting Gap Symmetry of LaFeP(O, F) Observed by Impurity Doping Effect

We have investigated Mn, Co and Ni substitution effects on polycrystalline samples of LaFePO0.95F0.05 by resistivity and magnetoresistance measurements. In LaFe1-xMxPO0.95F0.05 (M = Mn, Co and Ni), the superconducting transition temperature (Tc) monotonously decreases with increasing the impurity doping level of x. There is a clear difference of Tc suppression rates among Mn, Co and Ni doping c...

The Kosztin-Leggett Nonlocal Effect on the Magnetic Penetration Depth in Superconductors with Nodes in the Gap

Penetration depth measurements have played a very fundamental role in the study of the gap symmetry of all unconventional superconductors. For instance, from magnetic penetration depth measurements it was first suggested the dwave symmetry for the energy gap in high critical temperature superconductors (HTSC) [1]. It is expected that, for superconducting energy gaps with nodes on the Fermi surf...
